Here is the first ensemble I built for my sister while she played Lady Judith North at Bristol. She wore this the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
The bodice and overskirt were a heavy woven cotton in terra cotta that was a nightmare to work with; it was so heavy it broke quite a few needles! Still, it held up very well; she can still wear this dress in the worst weather, and it survives beautifully! The first season, the sleeves and forepart were of a gold brocade in a diamond pattern, hand-beaded with blue glass beads. The chevroning were in two different trims: a lovely jacquard ribbon from Palladia Passementerie, and a thin black velvet rubbon. It had a matching decorative corset as well. The closures are black pineapple frogs.

As shown here and in the first picture, this dress had an alternate set of sleeves and forepart. The sleeves were a fawn-colored leather with slashings and black velvet trim in a chevron pattern. The new forepart was a lovely silk-blend brocade in an animal pattern that was so period-appropriate it made me want to cry a little!

The hat is from the lovely milliners at La Paloma; she was nice enough to do a custom band using the matching brocade from the sleeves and forepart!
