This dress was constructed for my friend Katie, who played my part at another faire I couldn’t attend. She had always wanted a Noble gown, and I relished the chance to make a silver/blue gown utilizing a few new techniques!

This dress was based much more closely on the portrait of Lucrezia Panciatichi that I used as inspiration for my earlier sleeves. The bodice, skirt and upper sleeves were copies of that portrait.
The lower sleeves were based on another portrait; in a future ensemble, I will be doing a closer reproduction of this whole dress:

The dress itself was an ice-blue silk blend brocade with a very heavy hand, the sleeves were grey silk chiffon with silver cording and lace trim. It was constructed as a “one-sie”; the bodice and skirt were sewn together!

The hat is another modified flat-cap (if I have to make them myself, I’m going to keep it simple!), and the partlet is a lovely embroidered cotton.
