This year we attended the brilliant Regency Exhibition Ball in Lansing, MI, organized by the incomparable Mr. Charles & Kristin Lawrence and Mr. Jim & Kim Lynch of the Dressmaker’s Shop. That meant I finally had an excuse to build some Regency dresses!

As with mine, I used the Regency Wardrobe from La Mode Bagatelle. With multiple bodice, sleeve and skirt choices, as well as spencers, pelisses, and hats, this pattern truly does have it all. I used the crossover bodice for Tabitha’s dress, and the round gown skirt. The fabric was a beautiful chartreuse and gold sari print, with the patern on the diagonal. Women in this period were just beginning to wear diagonal prints, as the method of roller printing on fabric had just come into fashion!
