This is still one of my favorite dresses. I love pleating (not doing it, but the way it looks!), and this dress has a butt-load of it;) The pattern is the now-discontinued Martha McCain Simplicity Pattern 4510.
This was such a lovely pattern; the point in the front was very elegant, and the sleeves were very full! The only problem I found, and speaking to other costumers I found they had the same issue: the bodice was simply too long. That’s saying something, as I usually have to lengthen everything for my long torso! Still, as long as you took it up in the shoulders, you were just fine;)

I also made a bonnet to go along with this dress, and as I love drawn bonnets, I tackled one! I hate making hats, but I keep doing them, for some reason, and I think gthis one turned out reasonably well. The body is lavender satin, lined in white point d’esprit and trimmed with velvet pansies and green and purple plaid ribbon ties.

The dress was a striped taffeta, and I trimmed it with lavender satin ribbon, pleated between two bands of purple velvet trim. I recently sold this dress after several good outings in it; I hope the new wearer gets as much fun out of it as I did!
